In conjunction with ICPAC Colombo 2026, a special Small Scale Chemistry Workshop will be held on 12th October 2026 at Malambe Campus. The workshop presented small-scale chemistry as a practical approach to safer, more sustainable, and more accessible science education. Participants examined how very small quantities of chemicals, low-cost equipment, drop-based experiments, and responsible waste collection can reduce exposure, resource consumption, pollution, and experimental cost while preserving meaningful qualitative and quantitative learning. The program also connected laboratory safety, chemical ethics, security, green chemistry, teacher training, regional collaboration, experiment design, and international professional exchange.
